This paper was about some research that had been undertaken to gain views of colleagues (Academics) about CPD in teaching. The focus was on structured provision so workshops and programme not informal.
The study had been undertaken using an online survey with 55 questions across 5 areas. There were a few open questions but most were either a seven point likert scale or a 4 point scale. The response was 806 staff which represented about 33% of the available population but those who responded did cover all range of staff and disciplines.
The team have not analysed any qualitative data but have analysed most of the quantitative data. They found that for the types of things covered 80% of staff wanted innovative delivery methods and access to research findings on teaching in their discipline.
The researchers intend to undertake a further stage of data collection through interviews.
